Ubuntu Kung Fu by Keir Thomas is a collection of fun tips,
tricks, hints, and hacks surrounding the Ubuntu Linux distribution. It
contains a large array of tips surrounding system administration, the
desktop, multimedia files, printing, etc. What I liked about the book is that
you can just open it anywhere and start reading: most of Thomas’ tips are
unrelated to eachother. The book has a Web site with top tips as well.
One tip which greatly surprised me was number 170. It is called Steal the
Windows (or Mac OS) Fonts. The author doesn’t point out that such practice
could border on illegality. All in all, however, a good read and a fun book.
(But why does it have a pussycat on its cover? Oh, well; others like it.
